The Trust was happy to support this group in their endeavour to provide classroom facilities on their community allotment site, by awarding a contribution towards a modular building. The site, located just off Allotment Road in Cadishead, is used by various community groups including the most vulnerable members of our society; providing a safe and secure environment to learn about growing their own produce.

Following discussions with Cheshire Police Authority a match funding agreement was reached for the provision of a Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) for Rixton-with-Glazebrook. The PCSO has become an integral part of the community and provides a much needed link between the Police and various aspects of village life - engaging with residents, the local school, community groups and local businesses. The project has been a great success bringing improvements in communication between the Police and the community, resulting in an increased level of public confidence and an enhanced quality of life in this rural village.

The Trust is delighted to support Culcheth Methodist Church to deliver a youth club in the village of Hollins Green. This links directly with youth provision they deliver in the neighbouring town of Culcheth and programmes delivered in Culcheth High School. The youth club runs once a week from Hollins Green Scout Centre. The Trust supports the cost of this delivery for the young people in the Rixton-with-Glazebrook community.

The Trust was pleased to support holiday activities run by ICY Positive Moves at Cadishead Hall over the summer holiday period. The organisation endorses positive changes to the lives of children, young people and families by providing safe and age appropriate activities for 5 – 19 years old. The holiday activities were held in the evening and included a wide range of fun, safe and challenging activities.

The Hamilton Davies Trust is a proud sponsor of the Annual Irlam and Cadishead Community Festival, each year pledging grants towards the running costs of this much appreciated community event. The festival is well attended and provides daytime entertainment for all the family, concluding with an evening firework/pyrotechnic display. Many community groups use the event as a fundraising or promotional vehicle as it provides them with an opportunity to showcase their activities in the area. The trust is pleased to support the volunteers who continue to run this traditional event for the whole community.

Community First Responders are local residents who are trained and equipped by North West Ambulance Service. They attend a range of emergency calls in advance of the arrival of ambulance crews, in order to begin medical assistance and life saving care as quickly as possible. The Trust awarded a grant to provide our local team of volunteers with uniforms which ensures they are easily recognisable in an emergency situation and promotes their truly appreciative role.

The Hamilton Davies Trust is a proud funder of the Manchester United Community Hub project, which is led by Manchester United Foundation who use football to change young people lives for the better and the passion for Manchester United to educate, motivate and inspire young people. The project is based at Irlam and Cadishead College and works in conjunction with all local primary schools. The Trust is delighted to support this project which not only delivers football coaching sessions and encourages participation, but promotes healthy lifestyles through workshop based learning and offers life changing experiences.

Preston Hall is home to Irlam and Cadishead Disabled Person's Group. A local charity which for many years has provided support for local families and offered activities for appreciative residents, Hamilton Davies Trust was approached by the Hall's Trustees to help financially support their endeavour to rejuvenate the building for the future. The Hall's Trustees worked extremely hard to achieve all the maintenance required on a very cost effective basis. After the more extensive jobs such as fitting a new boiler were completed the hall was given a much needed lick of paint, which has made a huge difference to the feel of the building. During the renovation a partnership between Preston Hall and Fairhill's Pre-school was formed to ensure sufficient use of the building. This renovation project was celebrated when Fairhill's Pre-school made Preston Hall their permanent home in Summer 2010.

The Trust is pleased to support Irlam and Cadishead New Age Kurling group who meet weekly at the Acorn Centre. Promoting a relatively new sport to the community, the group, who cater for all ages and abilities hope to expand their membership and join a league. We hope that support from the Trust will assist this group in their developments.

The Trust is proud to support Irlam Endowed's passion for providing sporting opportunities for their pupils by awarding a grant to assist with the delivery of after-school and lunch time sports activities. The grant awarded also enabled the PE Co-ordinator to run a Sportsperson's Dinner to celebrate the achievements of the school's pupils and teams.

Formed in April 1946, Irlam Male Voice Choir are a flourishing group of men who sing for their own enjoyment whilst aiding local churches and groups with funds raised at their concerts and performances. After 20 years of wear the Irlam Male Voice Choir were in need of new uniforms. The Trust was pleased to donate a third of the cost for the 30 strong choir's attire. We wish the choir every success as they continue to support other local causes.

Luke is a very talented local swimmer who represents Great Britain. His commitment to the sport sees him training for 30 hours a week alongside studying, for a degree in Sport Science. The Trust was happy to contribute towards Luke's expenses and awarded funds for him to attend a training camp in Italy in preparation for Olympic Games selection.

Relate Greater Manchester South is a relationship counselling charity. They offer counselling to 10-18yr olds who are affected by parental conflict, or who are suffering as a result of their parents' relationship breakdown. They offer a specialist service for young people, preventing mental health problems in adolescence and increasing the chances of educational achievements. Family breakdown is also one of the key risk factors for juvenile crime, substance misuse and anti-social behaviour. Hamilton Davies Trust has funded for the past 6 years a counselling service based at ICCHS and run by Relate. This resource helps young people understand and cope with some of these issues, building their self esteem and increasing their potential to achieve.

The Trust has continued to support the co-ordination of activities delivered over school holidays for the young residents of Rixton-with-Glazebrook. Funding was provided for the provision of a free, open access multi-sports programme on St Helen's School Field. Delivered by Salford Community Leisure, these sessions were run daily over Easter, Whit and Summer holidays for 5-16 year olds and offered a variety of sports and games under the supervision of qualified sports coaches and dance tutors. Joining the summer programme was Kids Rhythm, who hosted the very popular arts and crafts workshops, offering creative hands on art and crafts sessions within Hollins Green Scout Centre.

The Trust was happy to support St Mary's Toddler Group which meets in the school hall and offers an age appropriate environment for parents and toddlers to become familiar with their local school. The grant awarded was used to buy much needed equipment to improve the quality of provision on offer to the youngest members of their school community.
